Dear Wine Lover,
Waiting for the exciting release of Masseto, we are glad to inform you that the new vintage from the best Chile wine, Almaviva 2010, is now available.
Located in Chile’s central zone, the Puente Alto region, has been recognized to offer the ideal climate and conditions for growing the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. This is one of the main reasons why Baroness Philippine de Rothschild of “Chateau Mouton Rothschild” decided to seal a partnership with Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, Chairman of Viña Concha y Toro S.A (the biggest wine company in Chile), in 1997.
Since the first vintage in 1998, Almaviva had an international success and in 15 years time gained a place among the greatest wines in the world. The 2010 has been marked by a important earthquake but the winery and the vineyards didn’t suffer any damage. Furthermore the favorable meteorological conditions and cooler temperatures, gave a particular and exceptional quality to the grapes, full of fresh and ripe fruit, a great level of acidity, elegance and purity. The blend is composed by 61% of Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Carmenère, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% of Petit Verdot.
