Dear Wine Lover,
“Le Macchiole” has always been among our favorite winemakers from Tuscany and for vintage 2008 the wines produced were absolutely amazing. The two wines, Messorio and Paleo 2008, are probably among the best wines ever released by this winemaker and our price is a real Christmas gift for wine lovers.
Le Macchiole is a revolutionary Tuscan producer that impresses demanding and curious palates year after year. Its long-time enologist Luca D’Attoma, also consultant at Rita Tua, best known for its marvelous Redigaffi, has recently undertaken important improvements in the vineyards, such as biodynamic farming, that have brought to higher quality in the cellar. Its cutting edge wines have made it possible for the estate to become a star among Supertuscans, and considering the unlimited potential of the vintage 2008 and the amazing ratings received by the major winecritics, you can’t do anything wrong in ensuring you some of these bottles.
Both wines go very nicely with heavier foods – beef, red pasta and will be one of the most suitable companion during your winter dinners.

James Suckling 97: Best Paleo ever here. Incredible concentration of fruit, yet racy and balanced. The palate is crazy. It's like chocolate olive oil cake. Beautiful fruit, with dark berries, olive leaf and chocolate. Love the texture. The best pure Cabernet Franc on earth? Can't wait to drink it. Better in 2014
75.0 cl Messorio - Le Macchiole 2008 CHF 166.00 (CHF 179.30 Vat included) 100% MERLOT, MASSETO STYLE BUT AT 1/3 OF THE PRICE!!!

Robert Parker 97: The 2008 Messorio is simply marvelous in this vintage. Layers of dark fruit take shape beautifully in the glass as this reticent Messorio shows off its pedigree. The 2008 is a decidedly inward wine that, once again, stands apart from some recent vintages. The 2008 is a mid-weight, refined Messorio endowed with tons of balance and sheer finesse. It will be a fascinating wine to follow in the coming years. The 2008 Messorio was aged for 14 months in the standard French oak barrique (75% new), a move away from the smaller barrels that had been used in past years. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028.
