Dear Wine Lover,
I hope you have enjoyed your Christmas and that 2013 started in the best way possible,
As another year has passed, ARVI SA and myself would like to thank you for your faithful trust and we wish you a healthy and successful 2013.
James Suckling, just came out with his top 10 wines he tasted in 2012. Over a selection of more than 4’000 wines he tasted during 2012, he has appointed Malescot St Exupery as Nr 1! In our opinion a very good choice as he considered also the price/quality ratio, this is a first growth quality wine that still costs less then CHF 100 per bottle. A very good buy.
Classified as a Third Growths and from the amazing vintage of 2009 , Chateau Malescot St Exupery shows a fabulous complexity and balance comparable to the flagship wine of this Appelation: Margaux.
I thought to underline a comment from James Suckling which proves his love and admiration for this wine: “It underlines what I learned at an early stage of tasting great Bordeaux in the 1980s, when the late winemaker Emile Peynaud pointed out that a great wine is always great to taste or even drink – regardless if it is a barrel sample, bottled wine, or mature bottle. The 2009 Malescot is that sort of wine.”
Please note the slogan from this Chateau: “Semper ad Altum” – Always Higher… and we want to add that this wine may have reached the peak with this incredible 2009 vintage.

James Suckling 98points: A wine, with intense spice and berry character, with hints of sweet tobacco. It changes all the time from flowers to fruit and wet earth. Full-bodied, with super fine tannins and ripe fruit. It's long and juicy with lovely fruit. Super long and beautiful, with fine tannins that last for minutes. Tight now, but juicy and gorgeous. Best ever from here. Try in 2020.
Wine Spectator 97-100 Points: "This is absolutely fabulous. I love the complex aromas of ripe fruit and fresh flowers that turn to mineral and raspberry, along with tannins on the finish. This changes all the time. Full-bodied and dense, but so beautiful and long. The layers of ultrafine tannins just turn off the tip of your tongue. Score range: 97-100 ?JS"
