I just came back from a visit in Tuscany were I had the opportunity to meet the major producers from the regions of Bolgheri, Chianti and Brunello. It was a fantastic experience seeing how and where wines such as Sassicaia, Tignanello, Lodovico or the Brunello’s of Gaja are being produced and having the opportunity to taste older and yet to be released vintages of the best wines.

For most top wines of the most renown producers the new release will be the 2010 vintage, which is characterized by very fine wines with an outstanding elegance, not as classic and powerful as the prior 2009 vintage. In fact just today Ornellaia 2010 has been released on the market which we are glad to present you today!

Ornellaia has been put in the shadow by Masseto in the last years, even if quality was always at outstanding levels and some of our best clients even preferred it to the Tenuta’s first wine. Recently it was decided also to separate the production of Masseto and Ornellaia, even though not changing the winning team of enologists and technicians guided by Axel Heinz , which have achieved such excellent results in the past years. All this efforts have brought to a slight increase in the release price of Ornellaia compared to the last vintage but following James Suckling the quality of Ornellaia 2010 “should be outstanding”:
