Château Bastor-Lamontagne

Located in Preignac, one of five communes in the Sauternes appellation, Château Bastor-Lamontagne has 56 hectares of vineyards in a single block on siliceous-gravel soil. The estate takes its name from Chevalier de la Montaigne, a councilor of the Bordeaux Parliament who became the owner in 1711. Today, critics often emphasize the wine's fine, dependable quality. The Grand Vin, Château Bastor-Lamontagne, is often described as a "modern Sauternes" thanks to its freshness, finesse, and balance. It is enjoyable both as an aperitif and with food. Although it can age very well, Bastor-Lamontagne is also delicious young thanks to its vivaciousness and elegance. Their second wine, Les Remparts de Bastor-Lamontagne, is also particularly fruity and well-balanced. Caprice de Bastor-Lamontagne is an exuberant, easy-to-drink, and quintessential Sauternes thanks to the blend of 50% Sémillon and 50% Sauvignon Blanc. All the wines of have good acidity and a floral bouquet with overtones of honey and acacia.
