Château d'Arcins
Château d’Arcins was one of the first Haut-Médoc vineyards to be developed by the Templar Knights in the 14th century. Many centuries later, it was bought by the Castel family in 1971. In a state of ruins at the time, much money and care was spent renovating the property and in the 1980s, they built a circular vinification room. They use over 1,500 oak barrels for aging, of which one-third are renewed each year. Today, it is a member of the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Médoc and recent years have been some of Robert Parker's choices for "sleeper of the vintage".
