Château Lafleur Gazin

As its name suggests, Château Lafleur-Gazin lies close to both Lafleur and Gazin and down the road from Pétrus. Though owned by the Borderie family since 1976, its wines have been managed by Ets Jean-Pierre Moueix, an arrangement that multiple Right Bank châteaux have, including Certan de May. Its 8.5 hectares are planted to Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) with a density of 6000 vines per hectare and on a soil of gravel, clay and iron oxide. Like most producers in Bordeaux, they use temperature-regulated vats - of which some are concrete and others stainless steel. Its only one wine is then aged in French oak barrels - 1/3-2/3 new, depending on the vintage.
