Il Borro

With an incredibly ancient beginning, Il Borro has passed through the hands of numerous noble families since its creation in the 13th century. One of the most important figures behind the Il Borro estate, was visionary, Alessandro dal Borro, who represented the third generation of Borros to manage the property. The modern day history of Il Borro however, began in 1993 when Ferruccio Ferragamo bought the estate determined to restore it to its former glory. By 2003, new grapes had already been planted and the family continues to work tirelessly to respect and improve their property. Grown on the Valdarno hills, Il Borro’s 45 hectares of vineyards sit at the bottom of the Pratomagno Mountains. Planted to Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the family practices organic viticulture and started the conversion to biodynamic farming in 2015. The emphasis on excellence here is clear, Il Borro produces several reds, whites and rosés that reveal the best this terroir can offer.
